I would have never imagined I will one day be so enthusiastic after reading a text written by a Southern Baptist. But here it is. Yes! Well done, Russell Moore!

Martin Luther King jr – The Letter from Birmingham Jail

Today, I will spend a few hours with a group of young friends, discussing MLK’s Letter from Birmingham Jail.

This is an amazing document. Plase watch or read, if you have never done it. See below the PDF text.

Synod of the Church of England – Archbishop Opens Debate on EU Referendum

JustinWelby

Friday 8th July 2016

This is ‘not a time to fear’ but a time to trust God, the Archbishop said in the opening speech of Synod’s debate on the EU referendum today.

The Archbishops of Canterbury and York added the item as urgent business to the Synod agenda, with the members’ consent.

Read the full text of the speech:

The length of the EU referendum campaign, the high turnout and the clarity of the result means, it seems to me, that whatever our view of what we would have preferred, we must now deal with the world as it is, and seek not merely survival after Brexit – if we were one of the 48 – but the common good, the flourishing of all our citizens and the seizing of the opportunities offered to our nation; above all to witness to the Kingdom of God.

E prea grotesc.

Asa am simtit in ultimele 24 de ore. Si in continuare tot asa sunt ispitit sa simt.

An Interview with John Perkins – On Ferguson

John Perkins

Dr. John Perkins is an 84-year-old Christian civil rights leader, author, and founder of the Christian Community Development Association (CCDA) that I had the privilege meeting a few years ago at Duke University.

Here is the beginning of an interview he gave recently to Amy Julia Becker, from Christianity Today, on the racial killing of Michael Brown in Ferguson, near St. Louis, in Missouri.

* * *

In light of the recent events in Ferguson, Missouri, how should Christians respond?

For years we have been tiptoeing around trying to work out a human response to biblical reconciliation. I don’t know enough about this incident to speak to it directly, but I know that how we act shows that we haven’t developed an understanding of reconciliation that is tough enough to deal with these incidents. We need a biblical response, not a human response. Continue reading “An Interview with John Perkins – On Ferguson”
