This is a great text, worth reading. And, no, Corey does not have to also talk about the differences btween Islam and Christianity. That is common sense for anbody who has a brain. But, in a (conservative/fundamentalist and Islamophobic Western) context in which only the differences are emphasized, there is a great need for irenic spirits who also underline the communalities rooted in our being created in the image of God (yes, both Christians and Muslims) and in our monotheistic faiths, whether we beleve we worship the same God or not.

I am a conservative christian ans I knew the Muslim should honor Jesus. To claim that they love Him is too much. Furthermore, how come they are forbidden (lately) to celebrate Christmas? And how come the forbid Christmas caroling in cities where they are in majority? I had Muslims explained to what they believe about Jesus. To claim that they love Him it’s an overstatement.
They might not have to kill the infidels, if the author says. But they hate Jews, from the dawn of civilization and they are antisemitic in spite of being “distant relatives”. I am surprised by the author. Between the Jews and the Christians, the Muslims would rather accept the Christians.
Yes, they are hospitable.
Martyrdom? They might say it’s forbidden but it is so common and the leader of ISIS is a Muslim scholar himself… and so are other terror inspiring figures. I have heard so many explanations of suicide attacks that I doubt that forbidden martyrdom would be common in Islam. Kids in Palestine are raised to become suicide terrorists again Israel. Very unconvincing!
Yes, the Muslim suffer by far more the victims than Christians in terrorist attacks but this is just because the suicide attacks are tolerated among them. Why they don’t stop them? The shia and suni Muslim hate each other and kill each other during the Ramadan and pilgrimage to some shrines in Iraq or during some holidays in Pakistan. Why is that? No Jews and /or Christians around and still attack each other..
PS- A 28 yrs old engineer from Iraq, friendly with me, told me: “we , suni and shia hate each other but we have a common enemy: the Jews”.
PS2 -It was proven that many terrorists are drugged during the attacks, lots of them mentally ill and brain washed. No questions the vast majority of Muslims are peaceful people and fed up with violence.
