Woman in Gold – Official Trailer

This film, which just came out in the theatres these days, is about the fascinating story of the painting titled ‘Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer I‘, one of the most famous works of Austrian painter Gustav Klimt.

Summary of the story: The painting, owned by the Jewish family Bloch-Bauer, was confiscated by the Nazi, following the Anschluss, and became in 1941, the property of Austria and was housed in the Belvedere Palace in Vienna. After a long trial, the painting was returned in 2006 to the heirs of the Bloch-Bauer family, and was subsequently sold  for US$135 million to Ronald Lauder for the Neue Galerie in New York City, where it is now.

Here is a reproduction of this amazing piece of art.
