Evangelical Missionary Work in Orthodox Romania

A good friend of mine, who is probably the arch-specialist in Orthodox-Evangelical relations in the world is planning to write an article for a Romanian Orthodox theological journal on the topic in the title.

Since I have concentrated less on Romania in the last years, I do not have the data he needs. That is why I am asking for your help. I write in English because I would prefer the comments and suggestions to be in English, as they need to be sent to my friend, who does not read Romanian.

Here is how he framed his request:

do you have any statistics or information I can use in this article that will give my readers a sense of how much evangelical missionary activity is going on in Romania, it’s impact on the Orthodox Church there, and the positive or negative consequences of such mission work? Feel free to send anything you think will be helpful.’

  1. A telephone conversation with owners of websites mmu.ro and oci.ro would help. The websites are in romanian and do not include statistics in english from what I could see (oci.ro has a virus warning). But those organizations should know the kind of data that is requested.
