11 November – International Day of Prayer for Egypt

Millions of Christians worldwide will participate in the global Day of Prayer for Egypt. This ceremony will be held in St. Simon Monastery in Moqattam City on Friday November 11.

This ceremony will be held to support Egypt and the Egyptians. Many countries in Europe and the U.S. will hold the ceremony at the same time and all Christian sects will participate in the ceremonies as well.

Some Muslims will also hold prayers for Egypt at the same time.

Right-wing activists and those responsible for the ceremony, Badri Makrum, said this ceremony is to pray for peaceful Egypt and calling for global peace. Makrum also said the ceremony is scheduled for 6:00 P.M. until 6:00 A.M.

The ceremony will include ecclesiastical rituals and prayers for peace in Egypt. Many bishops and monks worldwide will participate in the ceremony in different Egyptian governorates. Also many representatives of the Christian sects and celebrities will attend the ceremonies.

“Millions of Christians will pray at the same time worldwide for love, peace and tolerance to the world and particularly for Egypt,” Makrum said.
