Religious Identity and the Gospel of Reconciliation

Prof. Dr.Professor Dr. Miklós Tomka, one of the most important sociologists of religion in Europe, is Director of the Hungarian Center of Religious Research, and author of the book Church, State and Society in Eastern Europe. He is also involved in the World Values Survey.

I have heard for the first time the name of Prof. Tomka from a former colleague, Dr. Georgina Szilagyi, while I was teaching in Oradea (1994-1998). I had the honour of meeting him in person in August 2008, during the 12th General Assembly of IAMS (The International  Association of Missions Studies). His opening address at this international symposium impressed me a lot. That is why I want to recommend it to you Today (click on the title below to download it in PDF form).
