The Elders’ delegation will be led by former Brazilian President Fernando Henrique Cardoso and will also include Ela Bhatt, Gro Brundtland, Jimmy Carter, Mary Robinson and Desmond Tutu. They will be joined by business leaders Richard Branson and Jeff Skoll who, with others, have helped to establish The Elders’ organisation and continue to support their work.

Iata ca nicii batrinii nu au ajuns la intelepciune definitiva. Jimmy carter isi cere iertare de la Israel. Frumos … nu e ingurul care ar trebui s-o faca. Popularitate capata insa alte pocainte.
“Earlier this month, Carter told JTA that he wanted to issue a plea for forgiveness during Hanukkah for any stigma he may have caused the Jewish nation.
“We must recognize Israel’s achievements under difficult circumstances, even as we strive in a positive way to help Israel continue to improve its relations with its Arab populations, but we must not permit criticisms for improvement to stigmatize Israel,” Carter reportedly said in a statement.
“I offer an Al Het for any words or deeds of mine that may have done so,” he reportedly said, referring to the Yom Kippur prayer for atonement for sins against God.
Carter told the news agency that he shouldn’t have named his book, “Palestine: Peace not Apartheid,” saying Palestinians in the disputed West Bank are not suffering under apartheid, though they could if a two-state solution with Israel is not achieved.
“I never intended or wanted to stigmatize the nation of Israel, even though I have disagreed with the settlement policy all the way back to the White House,” he reportedly said, while repeating his criticism of Israel’s recent decision to allow existing settlements to continue their “natural growth.”

Da, Domnule Chis. Hamasul a folosit bombe cu fosfor in Gaya. Hamasul a ucis mii de oameni nevinovati, cu intentie nu ca accident nefericit.
Observ ca aveti o cumpana foarte “dreapta”. Se pare ca pentu dvs. numai suferintele unei singure parti conteaya.
Iar daca Egiptul face acelasi lucru cu granitele Gazei, inseamna ca ceea ce face Israelul este bine_ Ce fel de logica este aceasta?

Cred ca locuitorii din Gaza sufera si au mari greutati ca urmare a ultimului razboi dar nu cred ca Israelul e marele vinovat in aceasta chestiune asa cum spune Jimmy Carter. In primul rand Israelul nu ar fi bombardat Gaza daca Hamas nu ar fi atacat cu rachete orasele din S Isrraelului , in al doilea rand criticile aduse Israelului pentru ca nu deschide punctele de trecere a frontierei cu Gaza sunt incorecte pt. ca acelasi lucru in face si Egiptul la punctul de trecere Rafah. De ce Egiptul nu deschide granita de la Rafah pentru ca ajutoarele umanitare sa treaca pe acolo , mai ales ca palestinienii sunt de acelasi neam cu egiptenii. Nu sunt de acord cu faptul ca Israelul blocheaza accesul ajutoarelor in Gaza dar si Egiptul face acelasi lucru dar nu este condamnat . Punctul de trecere de la Rafah ar fi suficient pt. introducerea tuturor ajutoarelor .
