Dear Danut,
When you are experiencing a crises you think of your friends. This is one of those moments that I thought of you.
I don’t believe you have ever met the people I am going to tell you about.
I am writing concerning a young Georgian scholar and bible translator, Misha, 25 years old. He has recently gained theology master’s degree from the Tbilisi State University.
He is very keen to go to China and do his study on Christianity in China.
He has been given a scholarship for the three years study at Shanghai University.
But has recently realized that a body that was going to support his pre-university
language training is not able to pay his fees. The dead line for the application is
the end of this month.
He needs £ 2500 to start his studies in September. This will cover all his expensive
for the first year of his study in Shanghai.
Misha is a very committed young Christian, very active in the church youth work. He
has been nurturing friendship and cooperation among the youth from different Christian
backgrounds. For last few years has been working with the Georgian Bible Society on a
new edition of the Georgian Bible.
He has developed his keen interest in the Chinese language, culture and Chinese Christianity
since he fell in love with a Chinese Christian girl, Chinguin. Misha and Chinguin are planing to
get married in China and live together in Shanghai at least next 10-15 years.
Misha will be immensley grateful for your assistance at this critical moment of his life. If you are able to help him, in any possibly way, directly that would be wonderful but if not then perhaps you could advise me on any possible sources of funding of which you might know. Unfortunately time is very short.
