Here is one of my favourite sayings:
Life is too short to drink bad coffee.
Drink Fair Trade coffee if you can find (we do not get it in Romania).

Life is too short to drink bad coffee…
…and in a bad company

Of course. That is, for me, in order to really count, coffee has to large and strong. It is a social commodity, not private matter.
I cannot get the point of the Italian tiny espresso that you swallow like brandy in one sip. Why don;t they get it directly in the vain? It hurts less.

Well I agree with you about coffee, but let’s be fair to Goethe. The original quote, I believe, is Das Leben ist viel zu kurz, um schlechten Wein zu trinken. Life is much too short to drink bad wine. The original is also a favourite of mine!!

You told me that once, Philip (I did not know it) and I forgot.
I life that too, but I do not drink wine every day (I am too picky about what I drink, so intuitively I follow Goethe’s dictum), while coffee is on my table at least twice a day.
