Corruption Perception Index Map 2009

CPI Map (source)

Romania occupies in 2009 place 71, one step lower than last year!!! (of 180 countries researched). It shares it with its Balkan neighbours, Bulgaria, Macedonia and Greece. Three of these four states are EU members!!! Does the EU have anything to say about this? Or the fact that they represent large enough markets is enough incentive to tolerate this? By the way, even Croatia, who has difficulties in its EU accession because of… corruption, is on a better place (66).
