Lord Jesus Christ, bread of life and light of the world,
enlighten our lives as we grope in the darkness of uncertainty —
when we do not know where to go,
when we do not know what to do.

Enlighten our lives as we grope in the
darkness of anxiety —
when we are worried about what the future holds,
when tomorrow seems dark and dreary.

Enlighten our minds as we grope in the
darkness of despair —
when life seems empty,
when we feel there is no point in going on.

Help us to love as you have loved.
Help us to live as you have lived
Help us to be brothers and sisters to
our fellow human beings in their need
as you in your mercy were brother
to us and suffered and died for us.
