Care crestinism celtic? Cei mai multi cercetatori sunt de parerere ca asa zisul ‘crestinism Celtic’ e o inventie moderna. O romantizare care de fapt nu a existat niciodata.

Cred ca acest ‘cei mai multi cercetatori’ este o veritabila hiperbola. Chestiunea se dezbate si n-a fost transata inca. Desigur, e dreptul tau sa te o plasezi de o partea si a noastra de celalta, dar sa nu exageram totusi.

Danut, in cea mai mare parte ‘Celtic Christianity’ in manifestarea curenta (i.e. Iona, Northumbria, etc..) sunt inventii moderne. Nu exagerez cind fac aceste afirmatii Danut (am discutat subiectul cu un numar de oameni care au o oarecare expertiza in domeniu). Celtic Christianity au la baza ‘myths’ si nu dovezi istorice (and this is a fact). Vezi spre exemplu W. Davies’s ‘The Myth of the Celtic Church’. Cu toate astea nu vreau sa neg valoarea ‘spirituala’ a acestei manifestari.

Desigur, putem aduna, si unul si altul, titluri si nume, de o parte si de alta a acesti dispute. Diferenta dintre noi este ca tu crezi ca chestiunea este transata, in vreme ce eu cred ca verdictul definitiv n-a fost rostit inca. Pina cind chestiunea este transata in mod definitiv (ceea ce, cred eu, nu s-a realizat inca) alegem fiecare conform lecturilor, dar, mai ales, conform temperamentului si inclinatiilor noastre.
